WHO WE ARE

Welcome to Waco Open Arts Market! We are glad you are here!

Our mission is to encourage participation in the art community by providing a low-cost venue for artists and creators to display and sell their works.

Waco Open Arts Market originated in 2020, originally known as the Waco Uptown Art Walk. Our goal was to provide a place for artists to safely be able to continue displaying their work during the pandemic. The Waco Open Arts Market now hosts four distinct seasonal artists fairs. For the Fall Season of 2024, the Waco Open Arts Market will be held at Cultivate 7Twelve.

Our team members are Julian Rosas, Emily Maddox, and Cindy Boney.

Julian is a local artist and owner of a small business. Julian was influenced in the arts by his great-grandmother who was a painter. Her love and passion for painting is what inspired Julian to pursue a career path in the Visual Arts. He has a BFA in Studio Art from Texas Tech University and primarily works with drawing mediums, ceramics, and several other art forms.

Emily became involved with the WUAW in 2021. She is a barber by trade but striving to trade the clippers for a spatula. She loves making cupcakes and cookies with hopes of having a bakery one day.

Cindy is a retired educator embarking on a final career as an artist. She was influenced in the arts at an early age by her mother, who was an oil painter, and her father who was an amateur photographer. She enjoys painting florals and abstracts in both watercolor and acrylics.
